As with most nursing centers, they have one assistant to large patient load. They have one individual for about 15 patients who are bed ridden. Next, the Director of Rehab is only interested in protecting herself and covering her basis. She is very arrogant, no compassion, and lacks the emotional intelligence to work in such a place. You get more emotion and sensitivity from Ebenezer Scrooge. Social worker is no better and gives social workers a bad name. For what she does, you do not need a social worker, a secretary would do. She has no issues inconveniencing you but she will let you know when you inconvenience her. Write everything down they tell you and record your discussions. Good about denying. Ask directly, don't assume. Rehab staff is much more caring and attentive to the patient. The physical therapist is excellent. They have a great activities program, very engaging with patients. For nursing home food, the food is good and mother enjoyed it. Nursing does the best they can. Myrna is an excellent nurse. While there are too few nursing assistants, they are very caring and respectful and doing the best they can. I have read reviews where some felt their family was neglected; we had a private care assistant for 5 hours a day and family was there during other days. Unfortunately, in El Paso, for low income, you do not have much to choose from. If you have a private duty or frequent family visits - then yes, would recommend otherwise it is a crapshoot.
