Joyce, I am a current client
The idea of Midland is heaven sent. The reality of Midland is a huge nightmare. In just one month of care we had: -Mis-scheduling for home health aid -No-show of Chaplin and home health aid -Home health aid showed up when not scheduled & made file notes that I failed to answer the door -Bed with full rails delivered without a delivery time being scheduled -VA bed never scheduled for pickup so had two beds in a small room for nearly a week -Was taken from ER to the Hospice House for an InPatient stay in only his hospital gown and socks in freezing weather -At ER, Midland nurse gave incorrect information on programs -Teeth were not bushed for 3 days -He remained in a hospital gown despite having clothes from home that he's comfortable in -Nurse taped his whole colostomy bag to his stomach, not the wafer Then while I was on my much needed respite: - Was called at least 8 times regarding the day our respite ended which changed 3 times! - Found Adult Protection brochure on window seal when I returned with no explanation - He was naked under a light blanket with just socks and a brief on- very cold - Only one pair of sweats were to be found - 10am Friday all his clothes were gone and was told they were being laundered - 7pm Saturday he still had no clothes Midland does provide a clean, homey place for their patients and their family. However, it's been nothing but a headache dealing with these people. Too many new employees, untrained staff, and lack of educated communication.
