The only major complaint that I have about Isle at Watermere, is that they know they have a major trip hazard in the dining room and there has been nothing done to remove it. It has caused my mom to fall more than once, and last time she broke her hip. She is in the hospital again, being treated for a compression fracture of a lumbar vertebrae from yet another fall. The trip hazard that they know about from reports submitted is a rug to tile floor aluminum transition strip. Currently, the transition is a large bump between the tile and carpet. Also, my mom has told me more than once that she needed help and has yelled for many hours, but the staff scoff it off as a woman with dementia. They have left her sitting on her room floor in her own urine and excrement for hours when she fell on the way to the restroom. The tenants used to have a call button pendant around their neck to push when they needed help, but they took everyone’s away that is in the mental care unit and only people in the assisted living unit have them now. My mom’s insurance keeps asking me if I am going to sue Watermere of negligence relating to elder care, but I thought that is the task of the insurance company to recollect their money if another party is at fault.
