I am the only child and live out of state away from my mother. She has recently been diagnosed with early dementia and i was in a state of panic. I was visiting her and realized there were so many things she could not easily do any more. Activities such as driving, shopping, cooking etc. Also, she had lost a lot of weight because she was forgetting to eat. I had to leave her and go back to my hometown and my job. I had very little time to set up caregiver services and really didn't know of any agencies in Miami. I work as a social worker in North Carolina and was familiar with Homewatch Caregivers. I called them and I spoke with the administrator, Darlene Garcia. Darlene was professional yet caring and was very, very helpful. She located a caregiver who lived fairly close to my mother. The caregiver came over to visit with my mother and me before I left town. She was the perfect match for my mother. I appreciate all this agency has done for us and would recommend them to any family seeking caregiver services.
