Paul and Lori Hogan founded Home Instead, Inc. in 1994 in Omaha, Nebraska. Paul's own family experience caring for his grandmother led him to realize many families could use the help of an in-home caregiver. He and Lori set about creating a company to help seniors to live independently at home. That mission still drives the company and its franchise network today.

I am a current client

I am part of the sandwich generation. My parents moved in with my own family of 5 a few years ago, as the health of both of my parents began deteriorating. While I count myself as primary caregiver, I also work and have an active family. My father, with Parkinson's Disease, needed more assistance than I could manage alone. I called upon Home Instead Senior Care to supplement what I was already providing. It was hard to let go of some of the "control" at first, but they worked with me to match Caregivers who were suited to my father's needs AND provided peace of mind for me. I could not have provided the care for my father, at home as he requested, without their help. As a veteran, my father also qualified for many resources through the VA. Home Instead helped me to access more care, supplies, respite and adaptive equipment through the VA. Again, I could not have managed without the support and guidance of the Home Instead team! My father has since passed, though we still have a Caregiver coming to assist with mom. Through the care given to dad in his greatest needs, the Caregivers became close to my mom and she desperately wanted/needed the encouragement and help that they still provide.
