Salvatore and Nancy Santora began their journey with Home Instead, Inc. in 2008 in Auburn, New York. Sal's own family experience caring for his mother led him to realize many families could use the assistance of an in-home CAREGiver. Nancy and he researched Home Instead Senior Care and decided to become a part of the franchise to help seniors live independently at home with their extreme passion for seniors and striving to deliver the highest quality home care experience for the clients and CAREGivers. On October 17, 2008, Home Instead of the Finger Lakes celebrated 10 years in business. Not only did Sal and Nancy have a vision and achieve it but they now continue with the mission of providing compassionate, individualized assistance to the clients and their families in a culture of collaboration, trust and professionalism.

To prove their continued support and compassion for the clients and communities they serve, Sal and Nancy were awarded the 2019 Business Leader Award by the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce on May 8, 2019. This award is presented to a business that has continually invested in Cayuga County while showing leadership.

Home Instead, Inc. began franchising in 1995. Today, the Home Instead Senior Care network has grown to include more than 1,000 franchises around the world. While some Home Instead Senior Care franchises are international our office is local, and to us, senior home care is personal.​
