When we started looking into care for Mom we were inundated with potential options. There are so many care agencies in Sonoma County, it was overwhelming. We interviewed 3 agencies and chose a provider that seemed to fit our needs. It turned out to be a nightmare. Caregivers didn’t show up, we were constantly having to call the office to figure out who was supposed to be coming next, and Mom would complain that some caregivers just sat and stared at their phones. Mom was determined she didn’t need any help to begin with and all these problems certainly didn’t help convince her otherwise. We almost gave up until we interviewed Home Care Assistance. They came in and started formulating a plan of care based around what Mom wanted. They were in constant communication with Mom regarding her schedule and would then send us any updates. We were able to voice our concerns but Mom felt as if she was in control, and that made a world of difference. I wish we had found them first!

Home Care Assistance has been a lifeline for our family! Mom went into the hospital and we didn’t realize how much help dad needed till she wasn’t around. Home Care Assistance was quick to drop everything to meet with us. Within a day they arranged care for Dad, and were able to adjust through the transition when Mom came home. There were some small bumps in the road when my parents decided they preferred one caregiver over another, but HCA responded with compassion and understanding when dealing with my parent’s quirks.
