Hayworth Terrace is a hell hole and deserves no stars. Owners have attempted to change its resident population to people who should be in nursing homes, as so many are in wheel chairs, have memory problems, etc., and many do not speak English. Residents who don't want to be there tend to wander and have to be found by the police. So management locks the doors. The facility is riddled with bedbugs and other vermin, and though cited, management does nothing about it ; some residents are covered with bites and their possessions are infested and must ultimately be discarded or destroyed. There are no activities for the residents, just TV in rec rooms; where the residents sit silently in their wheel chairs. The food is boring and often uneatable; chicken dominates every meal except breakfast. Seconds are not given. The Pharmaceutical control is sporadic at best, as are room cleaning and laundry. Management seems also to attempt to enroll residents in an HMO with which it has a relationship, it has been suggested; and residents who want to stay with their prior HMO's have to work hard to retain or return to them. The problems of the place are well known to the industry and to authorities, but little or nothing has been done by management to alleviate the intolerable conditions. Once an attempt was made management to segregate the dining room by ethnicity; this was actually forcibly stopped by the authorities after it was reported by a resident.
