At the start of the pre-sign up, I rated Golden Years In-Home Senior Care a 2 Star, because of my problems with communications on their Tel #, so I shifted to their Facebook page, I requested that If I could talk for a few minutes or met in person the promised Fil-Am Home care aide before I officially sign in. The agency rep said that it is against their policy for a pre-sign up meeting. She said she will consult to their management regarding my request. A few days later, I was told we can do a 90 minutes meeting pre-sign up at my own expense ( $50) and I agreed. Last Monday, Nov 7, the agency rep and the home care aide and I met. After meeting the aide in person, I sign up that day. Yesterday was my first day of service and so far so good. Today the manager emailed me that they prefer I do not used their Facebook page to communicate but their telephone open only from 10-4 MF. I also inquired what is the agency policy on requiring their aides to have a 2nd Covid-19 booster shot. I a am still waiting for a reply.

The last time we hired an agency for home care, we had a bad experience with our caregiver. I think it was a personality conflict with my mother. Since then, we’ve been using Golden Years In-Home Senior Care. My new caregiver has a great personality and is a lot of fun.

Golden Year’s has been caring for my dad about a year. I must say, things have gone really well. They have a four hour care service minimum, which, when starting, was a little more than we needed. Since then our care needs have increased and the four hours works out well. The only thing they could do better, is consider offering their clients fewer hours when they start. Other than that, everything is great!

Golden Year’s has what I would call a really “high ethical standard.” They’re always honest and willing to go the extra mile, even when it means working after hours. As for my caregiver, she’s a really a great help for me around the house. When you get old, there are things you can no longer do for yourself. Denise is awesome!

The team at Golden Years won her over very quickly. What started as just a few hours a day, a few days a week eventually increased as needed to live-in care. As my mother’s health declined, the care and help she received from Golden Years balanced her lack of mobility. When it finally came to the time that my mom had to go to an assisted living facility they helped with that too.
