Frances Manor

As the owner of Frances Manor I would like to respond to the one star rating posted for our board and care facility. From our formation, the mission of Frances Manor has been a commitment to the highest standard of care for our elderly residents. The core of our success continues to rest on the quality of the experience at Frances Manor. The local State approved Ombudsman who visits and observes all seventy five board and care facilities in the Santa Clarita valley has indicated that Frances Manor is among the top five board and care facilities in Santa Clarita. We, like all businesses, are subject to negative reviews which can impact our reputation. In the case of the 1 star reviewer, her allegations were thoroughly investigated by State Licensing and ALL allegations were found UNSUBSTANTIATED. I would encourage anyone looking for care for their elderly loved one to tour our homes and see for yourself the superior care that we provide including a two-to-one staff to resident ratio and Certified Administrators on-site 7 days a week.

After living almost a year in assisted living, it became very clear my mom was in need of 24 hour care. I looked at 12 Board and Care Homes in the Santa Clarita Valley and fell in love with Frances Manor. I was so happy when I learned they had an opening. My mom would be considered a "high maintenance" person, both in personality and medically. I visited my mom four days a week and my siblings visited the other three days. We had the opportunity to see the day-to-day caring of my mom. We loved the staff and their care for my mom. They were very patient and kind to her. My mom lived there almost one year before her passing. I never had one complaint about her care. She was bed-ridden and she never had one bed-sore and she received immediate personal care when needed. Every day, she had clean clothing on. My mom was very happy to be living there with such a friendly staff that became life family to us. They always served fresh home cooked meals including fresh desserts made from scratch. Let me say, my mom ate better than I did!! I can highly recommend Francis Manor to any family looking for a loving home and place to care for their mom or dad.

My Mom was actually at Frances Manor II. This care facility is excellent. My Mom entered Francis Manor II in April of 2015 and recently passed in May of 2017. I would not have kept my mother in this facility if it wasn't the best possible care. Before my Mom went into Board and Care we made her a promise that we would visit her every day and we did. My Mom had old age dementia but would report to me the happenings at the house - she always set near the front window and door - I called her the Mayor. She never reported any disfavorable conditions and often reported to me about how happy she was at the house and with the caregivers. Because of my daily visits I saw all the goings on between caregivers and residents, as well as children of the residents. I can say without a doubt that the care at this facility goes beyond the recommended standards. When there is 6 residents there is 3 caregivers on staff and 2 at night. They have very nourishing meals 3 times a day and snacks. They interact with the residents and truly the caregivers reflect the owner of the house. They are truly caring and thoughtful individuals. If I ever had a concern all I had to do was call Lissa and she immediately would look into the situation. She is an excellent owner and a loving caring person. I would highly recommend either Frances Manor I or II.

Frances Manor has made such a difference in my life and my mom. My mom was in a large facility in Calabasas prior to moving her to Frances Manor. I spent several hours a week facilitating prescriptions because they weren't being ordered through the correct pharmacy, billing errors, etc. My mom was on several medications and was not very alert. NOW at FM she is only on one Rx, she is alert and very happy. She is thriving in this smaller care environment. My first impression of FM was the positive energy radiating from the staff. The residents are given much more one on one care then in a larger facility. I wish we had moved her sooner; however, we were told the change would be very hard on her. It was just the opposite; I'll say it again, my mom is THRIVING. Best decision ever.

I found this housing to be perfect for my aunt as it has all the accommodations of a Home Sweet Home. I have visited several times over the years. The staff is very caring and friendly, and the home is very lovely and comfortable. An added plus is the cozy location/neighborhood.

My mother lived at Frances Manor for the last three years of her life. The care she received was excellent. The caregivers truly cared about the patients. My mother loved them just like family. The owner Lissa is one of the most caring people I have ever met.

The staff at Francis Manor II is unable to care for an elderly person that is immobile. They refused to turn my mom properly at night which caused her to develop serious bedsores that went to the bone on her hip. Her feet were covered in bedsores and her entire back was exploding in bedsores. All this developed within a few weeks of moving in. She moved in with not a single bed sore. I know what proper care looks like. Find another place.
