Faith Memorial Nursing Home

DO NOT send your loved one here. The staff are unprofessional and simply cruel. Our mistake was not visiting the facility first. On my grandfather’s first day he was yelled at by a staff member and told to move out of a seat in the dining hall. So, he returned to his room (More like a closet - You literally could not fit two twin beds in the room) and went to sleep. When he woke up, he realized that he had missed dinner. When he let the nurse know, she told him, “Oh well.” He was not offered a snack (which they are required to do). Furthermore, within 24 hours at the facility, personal items were missing. The facility is old, falling apart, smells, and has broken/rusted equipment. As I walked through the hallways, several seniors were crying. We did not have to be there long to realize that we had made a huge mistake. When we notified the director, Janet, that we were removing my grandfather to a facility in Baytown, she became rude, stormed off, and refused to be of any further assistance. The staff initially attempted to bully my Aunt and tried to make her think that we could not transfer him. However, I knew our rights. When we requested documentation, they refused to assist (even though they are required to assist by law). Luckily, I had a Cigna Health Springs Representative assisting me. Before we left, they removed his prescribed medication (pneumonia). They went out of their way to be difficult.
