I, myself, was recovering from knee replacement at an Elderwood rehab in Amherst, NY The skills of the Rehab team of women were outstanding. Despite the pain, it was a more enjoyable experience because of the unity of the therapists and the spirit of determination with which they approached the patients in their care. Each patient was treated with respect and joy no matter how different their disability or their pain- levels. The night nurses and aides presented a different experience. Some were nice and were patient. Others were indifferent and sometimes rude and even harsh. I did take an opportunity to say this to the primary nurse before I left the facility. She thanked me so doing so. I would go back to this facility if I had a need for good therapy again.
