Doctor said my mother in law was not actively dying then died within 24 hrs. We had hospice coming in regularly thank goodness. They certainly knew. I listened to their doctor unfortunately. If I had not I would’ve stayed all the time so she didn’t die alone. A nurse made her get out of bed when hospice told them they needed to put someone in the room if they were fearful she’d get up. They forced her to get up. The nurse told the aid to get her up and out in hall as a matter fact he said I will assist you. He said it in front of me as I was leaving. Unfortunately I had to go. Looking back I wish I would have done things differently. She was in a lot of pain so sleeping was very important.Seem to be the only time she was at peace and they forced her to get up.I went back to see what they were doing and she looked terrified and confused. I would go every day to visit and usually she was in a wheelchair with her head hanging down. So uncomfortable looking. Once was laughed at by this same nurse For explaining to him about what hospice said about her medication needs. Needless to say the guilt I have that I did not get her out. Never go there It was years ago so no need to get back with me. I didn’t know I could leave this with you then plus we’re all just wiped out. We were exhausted and planned her funeral so please no need to get back with me it was years ago. The guilt has never left me
