Thank you Comfort Keepers for all the kindness shown to our family while Nelson was sick. Each person that stayed with us watched and cared about him so much.

Thanks so much Comfort Keepers for sending Jeannie to us. I was happy to have someone dependable to look after my husband and allow me to get out of the house. She did a great job.

My grandmother fell on TWO different occasions in the presence of two different caregivers working for Comfort Keepers of Kingsport and I was not notified. One of the caregivers even called another caregiver to come help get her off the floor because she couldn't lift her on her own. My grandmother is a full assist and should not have had someone taking care of her that couldn't lift her on their own. When I asked this particular caregiver why she did not tell me she said it "slipped her mind". We had talked just minutes after it had happened and find it hard to believe something like this slipped her mind.
Response From Comfort Keepers of Kingsport, TN
We are saddened to hear that you were not happy with our services and felt it necessary to write a derogatory review, but we understand that you may not have the full picture. First, as a non-medical company we provide a variety of support services to our clients, such as safety measures to aid in fall prevention. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent falls unless the client follows the caregiver’s instructions and safety directives, or when a client does not have the caregiver in direct attendance because they are doing other client tasks. Secondly, all of our client’s know that we have lifting limits of 25lbs that are mandated through corporate policies and through workman’s compensation. Due to the safety of both the client and caregiver, a caregiver cannot “pick up” another person who has fallen. As well, we take into consideration that there may be injuries that could be worsened in a lifting attempt. Regardless, we follow the client’s instructions (who not to call or whom to call) while trying to convince the client to allow us to call for assistance if needed. Third, the caregiver must follow a client’s wishes who is in control of his/her mental faculties. Lastly, in accordance to federal law and HIPPA regulations, we are not allowed to give out any personal protected information unless the client gives us permission or we have a legal Power of Attorney for Healthcare indicating a responsible party. We hope that this brings you some peace and closure knowing as Comfort Keepers we believe in being trustworthy, open and honest.

Comfort Keepers of Kingsport sent loving caregivers to care for our mom when she had a severe medication reaction. They were wonderful to help her regain her abilities around the house and providing us with peace of mind while we were working. It was great to come home at night and know Mom was safe, fed, and cared for.

During a snow storm, the caregivers from Comfort Keepers did an excellent job arriving 2 hours early so they were sure to make it to our home in the storm. Caregivers went the extra mile by spreading rock salt on our sidewalks to prevent my wife from falling. I hope they receive appropriate recognition for their actions which in the Navy would be described as performance above and beyond the call of duty.
