I’d been working with another agency and the quality of the caregivers they provided were very poor. So, I contacted Comfort Keepers to set up an interview. I went to their office to interview two women because I want to know who is going into my sister’s home. I was very impressed with the first caregiver. Then, I met the second caregiver and was even more impressed. I hired Michelle that day! My contact, Stacy, at Comfort Keepers listened carefully to me about what kind of person I wanted for my sister. Stacy has incredible instincts, is highly professional and caring. She has relieved so much stress that was on my family. Our caregiver, Michelle, has a kindness about her that is instantly comforting and my sister was happy with her from the beginning. Michelle’s experience and knowledge of people with Dementia has been so helpful and informative for our family and my sister’s care. Michelle has take such good care of my sister and she has consistently exceeded our expectations. My sister is gaining weight and her overall health and cleanliness has improved significantly. Michelle also makes time to care for my sister’s dog. Stacy and Michelle are rock stars in the work of caregivers in my opinion.

I had never heard of Comfort Keepers, but upon researching I saw reviews for their services and I was very pleased. I needed to get some help quickly and the day I called I was told I could have help that night. I was impressed! They were very professional, but more importantly tender, kind, and genuinely interested in helping my mom. In a very short time bonds were made and hearts were being nurtured by the incredible Comfort Keepers staff. Every caregiver had something different to offer and their willingness to accommodate our needs was a blessing. My family is forever grateful for the “royal” care and treatment they have given to Mom.

As I am better and ending my time with Comfort Keepers, I thought I’d take this opportunity to share my thoughts on the excellent and reliable service over the past year and a half. While I was slowly strengthening and reconditioning my muscles weakened by a leg injury, my caregiver, Irene, kept the mundane side of my life worry-free. She was cheery, energetic, proactive – qualities that I’m sure contributed to my recovery as much as my exercises. The staff is friendly and polite which created a positive phone experience whenever I called. I do hope in the nicest way possible that I won’t require their services in the future, but if I do, I’ll have no reservations in calling, or in recommending them to a friend.

My wife received excellent care from the caregivers at Comfort Keepers. We consider them “Angels” because of the way they conducted themselves, they were patient and understanding of my wife’s cognitive losses and helped to comfort her in many different ways. They ensured her safety, provided her with encouragement and treated her with dignity. The love, the compassion and their optimistic approach to the day to day struggles and suffering were wonderful to observe. No doubt the long periods of depression, pain (psychological and physical) and my wife coping with the additive cognitive losses were very difficult to manage, but the caregivers continued to display a positive and encouraging environment and made the most of the circumstances.

Six months ago my sister was hospitalized due to the after effects of a fall which had required brain surgery. She was unable to speak, could not move her left arm or leg, had a tracheotomy and was being fed through a gastric tube. The support from the Geriatric Care Manager was invaluable. Not only did she provide much needed help in finding resources such as a rehabilitation nursing home and someone to untangle the medical bill, she also provided a thoughtful sounding board for the family. The hospital and nursing home visits during which the GCM acted as our advocate, insured that my sister received the attention she required. The reports you e-mailed to us immediately after each visit kept us aware of her progress, eased our anxieties, and enabled us to let medical staff know where we felt her care needed improvement. Finally, I must mention the high quality of the staff at Comfort Keepers for their wisdom, reliability, kindness and patience.
