Pam, I am a past client
Comfort Keepers locations are franchises and services vary based on ownership. Some are marvelous - well-run by responsible caring owners and with well-trained caring staff. That is not the case with the franchise in Bentonville, AR. If all your loved one needs is companionship and limited assistance this is ok. However, if needs are more extensive steer clear! Staff receive no training in basic healthcare needs and very little management supervision. Communication with office staff was very poor. Although they kept records of our mother's care, when it was requested that these records be made available to her and the family, which is required by law under HPPA regulations, management refused to release the records. Several injuries were caused by staff negligence and one which was quite severe, for which no medical attention was sought and no notification provided to the family until days later. Highly UNrecommended. Even one star is too many for this particular franchise.
Response From Comfort Keepers of Bentonville, AR
It always breaks our hearts when we are unable to satisfy a client. This family had the sweetest mother that we were so delighted in caring for. Unfortunately, there was a breach of contract when opting to hire two of our caregivers privately. We worked with the family to resolve this breach, and continued to provide a caregiver for overnight shifts a few nights a week to ensure that our client received the care she needed. The injuries mentioned were received during the day when we were not involved with care. Upon arrival, our overnight caregiver found injuries and called 911. All our caregivers receive 40 hours of training, which is mandated by Arkansas law, as well as a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education annually. We thrive to provide the best care possible, and as much support and communication with families as we can. Our care notes are placed in a binder and left in the home so that family can read at anytime and our office phone is answered 24/7 by a staff member. No question or concern ever goes unanswered.
