My dad has dementia and my mom, who is 85, is the primary caregiver. As we all know the story, mom wasn't taking care of herself. A neighbor found her very ill and called for an ambulance to take her to the hospital. Being a military family, we all ended up in different places and we had no immediate family to step in and take care of Dad. Comfort Keepers helped me through the paperwork, answered questions, got their staff lined up and had someone at the house to take care of Dad within four or five hours. Impressive. In the last three weeks, Comfort Keepers has been helping at the house and getting Mom back on her feet. Dad has just been enjoying the cooking and attention! The caregiver attending to my parents has been very professional and attentive. While we are still finding our way in figuring out my parents needs, Comfort Keepers has maintained flexibility. I would also note that communication is very good. Since I am at a distance, it is very much appreciated.
