Colonial Manor at Panther Valley

My father was a resident at Colonial Manor for a short time. Most of the staff are friendly and hardworking, but the owner is frequently unresponsive. Nicole, rarely answers the phone, and sometimes I had to leave several voicemail messages, emails, and/or texts before getting a response. They do not perform daily services as promised, so the resident is not getting the services they’re paying for. I called over 100 facilities before placing my father at Colonial Manor. Colonial Manor was far less expensive than other facilities in the area. Sadly, now I know why. The level of care they offer is substandard as compared to similar places. I know my father would have done better in a facility where they actually provide the daily care that is promised, and that the resident is paying for. After my father died, we wanted to acknowledge the good work of the majority of staff, and also say thank you to the residents that were so kind to my father for the short time he was there. So we sent a large gift of individually wrapped cookies and brownies to the owner, asking that she share it with her staff and residents. The owner never even acknowledged our gift. In my opinion, this goes to her character. My understanding is that Nicole just recently took over this business from her parents. So it seems that she still has a lot to learn. Don’t sacrifice your elderly family member for her education. I cannot in good conscience recommend Colonial Manor at Panther Valley.
