Clinton Commons

My father and mother lived in Clinton Commons for four years. Mom passed about a year ago. During that time I noticed several things that would make me not recommend moving your parents here. First, the meals. They will serve one meal a day that you pay extra for. This can add about $500 a month per person. The meal is lunch/dinner. Sometimes they have different community groups that will come in for a lunch or dinner meeting. When this happens, they will move the time the residents eat. Cable TV and Internet are available at an additional cost, but if If you just want to watch normal television, you must provide your own antenna. Another issue is snow removal. They seem to take their time making certain that the sidewalks and parking lots are clean. We visited several times during the winter and found ice and snow on the sidewalks and snow in the parking lot, this was two or three days after the snowfall. My father fell because the sidewalk had not been cleaned and hurt his hip. He told them about the sidewalk, but they didn't feel it was a priority. They try to limit the complaints from the residents by posting letters on the doors telling the residents that they should not complain about issues (the quality of the meals was one issue when they did this). There are extra costs for help with meds, cleaning and ect.. They did serve my father an eviction notice (he is 91 and was given a 30 day eviction) and he was told that he would not be allowed to come back.
