In response to the review of April, 2017, We would once again state that we are always open to hearing from family members directly when and if they are dissatisfied or have a disagreement with any decisions we make with regard to one of their loved ones. Because we are guided by statutes which direct us to not only take the protected person's wishes into consideration, but more importantly direct us to act in the person's best interests, we may make decisions that family members do not always agree with. That can and does have the periodic effect of angering family members. It is unfortunate, but it is also true that we are oftentimes called upon to be guardians in situations where there is a great deal of conflict between various family members. It is not uncommon for us to then become the target of people's anger and frustration. These are difficult circumstances not only for the family but for us as well. The claims of being disrespected, told constant lies, and wasteful expense are difficult to respond to when the family member who chose to leave this review never expressed those issues with us directly, which could have allowed for a fair resolution to both us and the family member.

Among the professional guardians in the Colorado Springs community, Care Planners is one the best choices. When the court appoints a professional guardian, it is often because the family members are in such conflict that appointing one of them would simply increase conflict. Care Planners does an excellent job of focusing on the individual who needs the guardian and also of staying out of family conflict. I have been very pleased with their services over the years.
