Brookdale Grand Blanc

We have looked at many, many facilities over the last 3 years and we are finally placing our loved one in a memory care unit. Brookdale Grand Blanc is by far the best we have seen. The building is very nice; it houses 46 residents with 23 on each side. Both sides are built around a courtyard so the hallways are bright. The entry way is set up to look like a 'main street' of sorts. The rooms have a bathroom with a toilet & a sink; the showers are in the hallways, which for safety reasons, makes sense. The building has 2 living areas & 2 dining areas, both nicely done. It has a library & 2 good-sized rooms where, with advance notice, you can prepare a meal for your family member & eat with them. They have an RN on staff & a geriatric physician visits weekly. What impressed us the most was the knowledgeable staff. They, by far, presented us with the most information on memory care & it appears they treat their residents with respect.
