About Brookdale Eugene Alpine Court

This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Alpine Springs;and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities;has shared since 1999 when our retirement community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful;a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our retirees who have chosen our community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Alpine Springs is in beautiful Eugene Oregon, which is just big enough to offer a wide variety of dining, shopping, entertainment and of course, sports opportunities (Go DUCKS!). When we take residents on scenic drives, they have the chance to explore the rich farmlands of the Willamette Valley, where they delight in the aromas of fresh fruit and vegetable stands, see newborn lambs in the field, and enjoy the vibrant colors of Oregon flowers.

And there’s so much else to do in this incredible part of the country; whatever is going on in the local area within a two- or three-hour drive becomes part of our itinerary. For example, we attend many of the area’s county fairs and festivals, including the Swan Island Dahlia Festival, the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival, the Hood River Blossom Festival, the Scandinavian Festival, the annual quilt show in Aurora and the Shrewsbury Renaissance Faire. We also attend several parades each year, including Rose Parade in Portland, and even participate in our own Eugene parade as its wheelchair drill team! We also visit all of the region’s attractions, such as Devil’s Elbow on the Oregon Coast, the perfect spot for picnicking, as well as Storybook Land in Albany, the Peony Gardens in Brooks, the Oregon International Raceway, local gold mines, the old-fashioned western town of Sisters and local casinos.

Residents also love visiting the Oregon Air and Space Museum right here in Eugene, the heirloom rose gardens in St. Paul, the Columbia River Gorge and the Mennonite Bakery. At Christmas, we visit the Mormon Church crèche display with 1,800 crèches and the Festival of Lights in Roseburg, as well as participate in the Springield Christmas parade, for which we decorate our van like Santa’s sleigh and toss candy to children. We also take residents, some in costume, to the fantastic Oregon Pipe Screams concert. Over the past decade, many of these activities have become traditions with our residents.

Emeritus at Alpine Springs is conveniently located in west Eugene, just four miles from downtown. The PeaceHealth Medical Group, which specializes in geriatric care, is right next door, and Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, a brand new, state-of-the-art regional medical center, is a quick 10-minute drive west. Our public library is literally in the neighborhood, along with many stores, restaurants and parks. And with easy access to Route 569 (the “Beltline”), we can easily take residents into the beautiful countryside surrounding Eugene.

A Wonderful Selection
Emeritus at Alpine Springs is a beautiful 70-unit private senior apartment community, with several styles of studio and one-bedroom apartments. All of our apartments are spacious, bright and cheerful, and include a small kitchenette with sink, refrigerator and microwave; extra large bathroom with safety walk-in showers and wide doors; individually controlled air conditioning and heat; and an emergency call system. We offer month-to-month rent without buy-in fees or leases. Each private senior apartment is the resident’s home to decorate with all of his or her own furniture and memories that make it their own. The retirement cottages at Emeritus at Alpine Springs are spacious and light, with huge windows. Each offers two bedrooms, including a master bedroom suite with its own bathroom and sliding doors to a back patio; another full bath; full kitchen; and single-car garage with automatic garage door opener. Built in 2001, the cottages also feature high ceilings, granite countertops and extra wide doors and hallways to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers.

Our senior apartment community was designed to take advantage of Oregon’s limited sunshine. The dining room, for example, offers a high vaulted ceiling with three stories of windows. Our library also has tall windows, as well as a quiet nook for reading and an area for putting together puzzles. We have an area with a pool table, as well as an ice cream parlor (check the freezer for free ice cream!), family dining room, garden and greenhouse. Our wide and quiet hallways also offer sitting areas for soft conversation and relaxation.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
We have ongoing relationships with several area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers, including PeaceHealth River Bend, which is the premier geriatric clinic in Eugene and located right next door. The newest hospital, Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend, is just 10 minutes from Emeritus at Alpine Springs. And depending upon what the resident needs for rehabilitation services, we will bring in outside physical, occupational and speech therapists to work with residents here on-site. We can also bring in outside hospice services as necessary.

Our Staff
When we take visitors on tours, we make sure they meet as many staff members as possible. After all, these are the people who care for our residents. We believe that only by looking a staff member right in the eyes can visitors get a real sense of who will be caring for them or a loved one. As we like to say, “You haven’t found a home until you find people who you can really trust.” Part of the reason our staff is so trustworthy and caring is that they join our community with the attitude that they are going to stay here--and they do. In fact, many have been here since we opened in 1999. Our team, including our executive director, community relations director, dining services director, life enrichment director, resident assistants, med techs, housekeeping and maintenance and full-time registered Nurse, are passionate about what they do, and it shows in the way they take pride in their jobs and how they care for each resident with dignity, respect and humor. Come for a tour; we’ll introduce you around!
