Arbor Hills Memory Care

My father was abused and neglected while at Arbor Hills. He would go over 16 hours without any staff members checking on him. He would go over 24 hours without food and very little water. On one occasion when Adult Protective Services/HHSC were called about a caregiver verbally and physically abusing my father (of which we have video recordings), the executive director literally cried when talking to me about having to fire such a "good" caregiver. She never cried over the abuse and neglect my father faced. My father developed a grade 3 bed sore within the first 3 weeks of being at Arbor Hills. The Director of Resident Services, the RN for the facility, was either incapable of recognizing the severity of the wound or lied about it to keep us there. Arbor Hills is not licensed to care for someone with a grade 3 bed sore. The Executive Director and the Director of Resident Services repeatedly promised to "do a better job" or "make changes" to correct the problems so my father would receive better care, but nothing ever changed. The Director of Community Relations never referred to my father by his name but always by a derogatory name. These are the people hired to run Arbor Hills. Do not put your loved one in Arbor Hills! We have found a wonderful place for my father where he is thriving, his wound has almost healed, and he is safe and happy.
