And Your Home Too

And Your Home Too was a great home for my mom. We had tried the facility because it came highly recommended by somebody I knew. After placing my mom into the group home, she appeared as very happy and just glowed because of all the attention that she got. Since Eddie has 30 years experience working with the elderly, she could discern how to best care for my mom and was very attentive to her needs. My mom couldn't speak so it was important that there were caregivers who had experience. My mom appeared very thirsty at the last facility but when she was moved to this group home, she always had water next to her. My mom ate really well there because they served her good food. And Your Home Too had a smaller resident to caregiver ratio then all of the other places that I looked at. The caregivers had a lot of years of experience and had worked for Eddie for a long time. The caregivers actually enjoyed their residents. I would highly recommend this loving home to anyone who has an elderly parent.

My mother had lived in different facilities during the past 4 years due to her dementia. The last place mom lived at was And Your Home Too. During most of the 4 years, she did not receive good care except for when she lived at And Your Home Too. It was a family atmosphere with the best and most loving and caring staff I had seen. The staff that works there is stable and has been there a long time so they had experience and knew more than hospice. They gave my mom more attention in the time she was there then she got in the previous years in other places. She was always looked clean and well groomed. I loved the home but wished I only new about them sooner.

If I could give a minus 10 stars I would. The owner, totally misrepresented the facility's capabilities & that of the caregivers. Clutter was everywhere inside both homes and outside around the property. Medications are not locked up for safety. Meals did not look balanced nor healthy (never posted). The cleaning & sanitizing was extremely lacking. A full urinal was in the trash can from the night before, and urine was visible on the floor. Ceiling fans had 1" dust & cobwebs hanging from them. Windows were never open for cross breeze, and most couldn't be opened. Residents were left to sit in their recliners all day long, not even assisting them to stand in place to prevent edema and pressure sores, which my father ended up with both. The tone and language used by caregivers and owner towards residents and family members was disrespectful, unprofessional, and uncalled for.
