American House Kentwood

My mother was in memory care at American House Kentwood for the last two years. Although I understood the girls worked hard, I had to move her out. The decline in care and the employees are so disgruntled and overworked, Linda and Virginia keep that building open, but they are the only ones that seem to care. I visited multiple times before I moved her out, hoping to catch the nurse, but the only one I spoke to was some trainer/fill in nurse visiting from somewhere else and had no clue what was going on in the building or my mother.

I am in the process of looking for a place for my grandmother. So instead of calling the facility upfront and telling them basically to put their best foot forward and since I already provide entertainment for retirement communities like these I decided to get a feel of this place first in terms of what would make me feel comfortable for my grandmother to be here. I was very turned off by the administrator. Initially when I called for the first and only time to speak with the Activity director for some reason he would not let me. He started asking me questions about who I was and shows with a lot of contempt in his voice. If the facility was not hiring Entertainment I would’ve appreciate being informed of that.
