Certified by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General - Division of Consumer Affairs, AHC offers hourly or live-in home care services. All aides are certified (CHHA) by the State of New Jersey Board of Nursing, and supervised by a registered nurse who conducts assessment visits and calls to patients.
Being cared for at home means independence. Having the right CHHA makes all the difference. AHC provides the solution for patients who need to maintain independence yet require assistance due to short or long term disability, illness or simply the natural aging process. Times to wake up, nap, eat, bathe or go for walks is strictly up to you.

American Home Care has been my go-to agency for the past 10 years. They have a quality team of caregivers that I work with, and management is very nice and treats all of the employees well. Patients usually stay with American Home Care for the long-term, so there are not a lot of changes, which works well for me as a caregiver because I'd rather work with the same patient long-term once I get to know them and their specific needs. The agency stays on top of our licenses, insurance, and immunizations, and assists with all necessary renewals, so there are no issues with any aides that do not possess all the documents required by the state. I intend to stay with this agency for years to come.

We hired American Home Care when my father got discharged from rehab with multiple health issues. When he came home he was at 100% fall risk and needed help showering, going to the toilet, eating, and walking. American Home Care sent a very experienced live-in aide to take care of Dad, and she has been with him for 3 years now. The aide has become a part of our family and is with Dad all the time, keeping him active and content as much as possible. Our mom needed help with being driven to her doctor appointments, grocery shopping, and cooking, so we hired American Home Care. Mom suffered CHF and had multiple surgeries in recent years. She is hard of hearing and has MS to top it off. In short, she truly needed assistance. American Home Care sent Sandy, a lovely aide, when we started using them about 4 years ago. Sandy comes 8 hours a day and stays with Mom, and helps her with everything, even opening the mail and paying the bills. Many other agencies keep replacing the aides and that could cause stress to Mom to have to get used to new people. In this case, we had stability and the same person coming in every day for years. It's truly been a godsend to have American Home Care on board with us, helping with Mom's care.

We have been using AHC for a little over a year now for my uncle. He never had children and his wife passed away two years ago, so I try to help with managing his care. AHC is wonderful and always very helpful with any of our questions. Their registered nurse is super nice and comes to visit and assess my uncle very often. We get a full picture on his condition and functional status whenever we ask, and there are never any "hidden" fees, like we had with our prior home care company (they used to charge for every service they gave, including nurse visits). I am very content with the level of service and professionalism we are getting, and my uncle LOVES his aide- this agency is a keeper, two thumbs up!

American Home Care took care of my mom for 5 years before she passed away. We live in California and were unable to take care of her daily needs. With American Home Care in the picture, her last few years were so much better. We have been using American Home Care for the past 4 years or so, to care for my father. He lives with me and my husband, but he cannot be left alone. He needs assistance with his basic activities of daily living such as eating, using the toilet, and showering. Dad also benefits from companionship being that we work outside the house on most weekdays. Our aide, George, has been amazing, helping Dad day and night with all of his needs. Never fussing, never complaining, George is always nice and positive, and encourages Dad to stay involved and not sink into depression.
