Allwel

Allwel is a licensed home care agency that offers high-quality, customized services designed to help individuals who need assistance to live safely and comfortably in their own homes. We have two offices: in Buffalo and in NYC. We started our journey as New Frontiers in Traumatic Brain Injury in 2004 in the New York city region. We began working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, with the mission of helping them live with autonomy and dignity in the community, in their own homes. In 2009 when we became a licensed home care agency, we were able to care for other populations as well- such as individuals with other long-term illnesses or individuals recovering from a life event, such as a fall. Due to our history working with individuals with traumatic brain injury, our focus has been on assisting individuals with cognitive impairments and losses, such as, Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Our belief is that people would like to live in their own homes, with the care that can support their needs. Research indicates that the majority of people choose to grow old in their own homes, and we are here to make that possible. We do this with only the highest standards, skills, and compassion. Not only do we care for our patients, our trusted presence helps families and caregivers share the responsibility of tending to a parent or spouse, while also leading their own fulfilling lives.

People we hire have what we call “the caring gene,” a natural skill and tendency to want to make life better for their patients. They take pride in their work and will go above and beyond for their patients, many of whom become like family over the course of months or years.

Our caregivers have demonstrated this higher level of commitment in more ways than we could say, whether it is pitching in to fix a flooding toilet or attending the funeral of a patient's loved one, it is becoming an integral part of their patients' lives. These are examples of things which Allwel only discovered after they were done. These are things which our caregivers have done because they care.

Allwel's caregivers are trained by a Certified Dementia Care Trainer in providing support to patients with Alzheimer's and other types of dementia. Seeing someone you love struggle with cognitive losses is scary and sad. Our caregivers have the skills, training, and compassion to help you through this.
