A Registered Guardian serves as private fiduciary of a minor, or a person rendered incapacitated through age or disability. Don is also approved under the New Jersey Court Rules as a Mediator in family and divorce matters, and civil, equity and probate litigation. Mediation is a process of dispute resolution by an impartial third party who attempts to assist and encourage contesting parties in a dispute towards a mutually acceptable agreement. Mediated agreements are binding on the parties and enforceable in Court.Before becoming an attorney, Don worked for the Social Security Administration where he adjudicated claims for benefits under the Social Security, SSI, Medicare and Medicaid programs. Presently, Don is the Chairman of the Somerset County Elder Law Committee, and holds the office of Secretary of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
