Reading the reviews of my facility breaks my heart. I have been with the community for a few months now and fallen in love with the residents and the Management team(most if them new). Now that I have accepted the ED position I know first hand what the motivation of the staff is and how far away from the mark we are and I am still willing to put my license on the line! I cant speak to how this community was run previously only to the direction we are headed now! Do we have work to do? absolutely! But I challenge you to come in and see for yourself!

The staff is expected to know how to care for dementia and Alzheimer's patients, but are untrained. Heron House is interested in census, not appropriate care for these very fragile residents. Management is not sensitive to their needs and have a cavalier attitude . One resident breaks lamps, yells day and night, flips over tables and tries to get into visitors cars daily. But she has plenty of money and therefore compromises the peace and safety of all other residents. Right next to a busy street with open doors, residents who have a tendency to wander are in danger. Staff retention is zero...for a reason. By the way, the chef quit, so fresh food options are questionable.

My parents were able to transition from home life to assisted living thanks to the great staff at Heron House Indian Rocks. They decorated their room just they way they wanted it, partake in many fun activities, and eat fresh meals every day. The facility is clean spacious. I highly recommend Heron House

I am the Guardian for my Uncle and live in another city. I depend on information found on the internet to find caring experts to help our family as we navigate the best options as my Uncle's very fragile mental state worsens. Dementia is setting in with the onset of Alzheimer's to be expected. I contacted Heron House many times to learn about their memory care program. Their website advertises a community composed of memory care life skill stations and individualized care. After many attempts with no answer, my aunt in Saint Petersburg stopped in. My aunt was shocked to find that Heron House does not have a memory care program, and there could not be a tour of the memory care life skill stations with other residents in the program, because they DO NOT HAVE ONE! If the company lies about this, there is no limit to what else must go on here. Please exercise due diligence. For me, and my family? Two thumbs down!
