Barbara Moss is the founder of Elder Law of Nashville. She has been practicing law for more than 30 years and is well known to Nashvillians for her column "Learning the Law," which appeared in The Tennessean for several years.

Professional recognition, activities and associations:
Ms. Moss has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® since 2005 and was named multiple times by her peers as one of the 100 best lawyers in Nashville in the Nashville Business Journal’s "Best of the Bar." She is currently listed in Nashville's Best Lawyers, and is designated a "Super Lawyer" by Law & Politics Magazine. She is consistently named by Memphis Magazine as one of the top 50 women attorneys in the mid-south.

Ms. Moss is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation and Nashville Bar Foundation, a member of the Tennessee and Nashville Bar Associations, and a member of the Lawyers’ Association for Women. In 1989, she was honored by the Nashville Bar Association with the President’s Award and served for three years on the NBA’s Board of Directors. Moss served a six-year term on the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Bar Association, and is a past President of the Lawyers’ Association for Women.

Ms. Moss taught at Vanderbilt School of Law in the appellate advocacy and trial advocacy programs from 1984 to 2000. She holds the distinction of being the first woman to chair the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, the organization responsible for all attorney ethics and discipline in Tennessee.

Community recognition and activities:
Ms. Moss been recognized for her contributions to the community with numerous honors including the ATHENA Award in 2007, induction into the YWCA Academy of the Women of Achievement in 2008, and the Molly Todd Cup in 2009 presented by Nashville networking organization CABLE. She was a member of Leadership Nashville Class of 2002, and has served on that organization's Board of Directors. Ms. Moss currently serves on the Board of FiftyForward.
