To seek, develop, coordinate, and administer home and community–based programs and services for senior persons of St. Lucie County and adjoining areas.
Our goal is simple...But worthwhile. We strive to serve the diverse needs of seniors, and improve their quality of life in meaningful ways. We offer a variety of programs and activities which not only promote independence, but expand horizons. Here, seniors come to share interests and experiences, learn new or sharpen old skills, receive assistance with the chores of daily living, support one another, and make new friends - all in a safe and caring environment.
Promoting senior independence
Did you know that more than 20,000 senior residents of St. Lucie County receive assistance from the Council On Aging every year? We help seniors continue to live independently and delay placement into supervised living facilities.
In a comprehensive effort to help these residents maintain independence without sacrificing quality of life, we offer a broad-based list of services to choose from.
Our case management and referral staff will supply links to appropriate medical, therapeutic, and social support systems.
Some services are supported in part by state and federal programs. Others are available through private pay.
