This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Austin Gardens and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities has shared since 2000, when our community first opened its doors. Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with a courtyard, lovely gardens and walking trails, Emeritus at Austin Gardens is an upscale Alzheimer's community located in a residential area of Lodi, close to I-5 and Highway 99. A beautiful, small community rich in local history, Lodi is surrounded by scenic country vineyards on all sides. Although Lodi is quaint in size, there is ample access to shopping, services, and places of interest, including Lodi Lake, Walmart, Target, JCPennys, Mervyn's, Lodi Memorial Hospital and a nursing home rehabilitation facility if ever needed. Its warm, family-friendly atmosphere puts residents and their families right at home the moment they walk through our doors.
Over the past decade our community has become well known in the area for our innovative approach to caring for seniors with Alzheimer's or Dementia an approach we call "Join Their Journey." The premise of Join Their Journey®, which is based on research conducted on seniors with Alzheimer's Disease, is simple: We believe that seniors affected by memory disorders still have so much to contribute to life. So our goal is to create a nurturing environment and provide ongoing opportunities every day that allow them to live purposeful, successful lives despite their disease.
Toward this end, we create specially designed memory care neighborhoods that provide a personalized, familiar and secure setting tailored to each resident's unique needs. Within this environment, our highly trained staff joins residents in their moment, rather than trying to bring them into our reality. Through this approach, we recognize individuality, encourage choices and help residents maintain their dignity. We also work diligently to get to know each resident and his or her family, so that we can offer the right support for every stage of the disease process.
