My wife and I moved into the facility two months ago. She was moving rapidly into dementia and increasinly unable to care for herself. I am 5 years older, and caring for her became more than I could handle. We have a nice apartment now at Aston Gardens which we can call home. Two bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, storage room, plenty of space, and I can even put up visitors for a night or two. My wife stays 24/7 in the Memory Assisted Unit, and her room there is exactly 400 steps through a lovely garden on a sheltered path from the apartment where I stay. We both get meals with the rental on our two units. There is swimming, nautilus, visiting speakers and musicians, and much more going on all the time. The staff are warm, loving people, and certified on their job level. The food is really good. I am a retired Army officer, and my wife and I are both retired college profs. There are plenty of residents who are educationally compatible for us. And there are several choices of religious affiliation in which to participate.
