About the Owner:
Shawn Kelly
2nd Family is a family-owned business born from personal experience. “When our own loved ones needed care, whether returning home after hospital or rehab stays, or requiring extra support in assisted living, we were overwhelmed by the complexity of options and disappointed by the gaps in quality and compassion. The emotional toll was profound, and we couldn’t help but wonder how many other families were facing the same struggle.”
Motivated by this experience, Shawn made the life-changing decision to leave behind a 25-year career in corporate strategy, operations, and finance to pursue a more personal mission: helping families navigate the home care journey with clarity, empathy, and confidence. He founded 2nd Family in the heart of MetroWest Boston to deliver high-quality, transparent, and compassionate home care services to local families, just as he wished for his own. Shawn brings not only extensive professional expertise but also a deep, personal understanding of what families truly need during challenging times. His goal is to ensure that every family feels seen, heard, and supported.
