I just wanted to share what I'm sure is a slightly unpleasant topic. I care for my mother and father in law (83 and 90). He's quite healthy and just has trouble getting around following a stroke. She has both Parkinsons and dementia.

One of our major problems is pooping. Prior to adding psyllium husk capsules to her daily routine she would move her bowels a maximum of twice per week and once or twice monthly manual disimpactions were not unusual.

She now takes four 500mg psyllium husk caps per day (one in the morning, one at noon and two at bed time) and is regular and we were also able to discontinue giving her senna on a daily basis. The capsules are very inexpensive and have worked wonders for her digestive health. No more straining and bathroom time is much less of a chore.
