Most older adults don't ask doctors about dementia, survey says

I guess I’m weird. Since my mother got Alzheimer’s at 89, I’ve been reading and researching and asking my doc questions regarding it affecting me.
There’s a specific blood test that can indicate a predisposition to it but he wasn’t in favor of doing it-can’t remember why. The medical community has connected seniors taking benzodiazepines to Alzheimer’s down the road. So now I only take one when absolutely necessary (one a month).
I’d rather know ahead of time than be surprised when it hits.

So interesting. Thanks for sharing.
