1-My father is in a nursing home on Medicaid. My mother is residing in their home which they own under joint title.
Can she sell the house and buy another?
2--If she would opt not to live in the same community would she still be entitled the $1955.00 spouse contribution which she is presently receiving out her husbands pension? Thanks

The fact he is on Medicaid seems like your parents assets are below a certain income level. I think if your mother sells their home the state can re-coop some of that money. But it is best to check with an elder law attorney in your state.

if he is able to sign, i believe they both half to sell the other i think you should consult a lawyer on that one law changes everyday..it really depends on what type of health he is in
