Greetings to everyone here, I'm new but grateful to have found this board. I'm hoping someone will steer me in the right direction.

I am 37 years old, a lymphoma survivor, but chemo/radiation left my heart and lungs scarred. In November 2012, I went to the ER diagnosed with pneumonia already, only to wake up in the ICU isolation room, surrounded by doctors, specialists and med students. The doctor told me I had suffered "some heart failure." I was also only three weeks postpartum, having given birth to a baby boy on 10/11/12. I reluctantly and brokenheartedly (no pun intended) signed over guardianship of my precious baby, as I knew I couldn't give him the care he needed.
Initially everyone was supportive and helpful to me. Now family squabbling over the past year has left me without a place to live, or a vehicle to attend regular doctor check-ups. I feel pathetically depressed and utterly alone. I am unsure what to do next, and my condition worsens.

If anyone has suggestions for me or resources I could check out in the CA SF Bay Area, please respond. Even a word of encouragement from someone would be greatly appreciated.

I apologize if I posted in the wrong forum. I hope everyone has a great holiday season.

This is a forum for folks taking care of elderly parents/spouses. I am so sorry you are going through this difficulty. Why not call social services in your area for assistance? You could check with shelters for women or the Salvation Army. Also, a call to your doctor might provide more resources available to you. Wishing you all the best.

Hi and so sorry to hear what you have been through. Some here may be able to direct you. I am finding the system is not very well equipped of taking financial care of the ill. I am hoping you may get some good sources here.
When I was robbed I called agency's regarding my Son's condition, churches, etc..for assistance. I did find some but it is a lot of work and was only temporary.
