The key to caregiving is not patience-it is compassion.

It takes a MOUNTAIN of patience to deal with a mean, combative, hateful elder, as I do. It is very hard to keep the loving compassion shining when you are being called every thing except a milk cow. I love my Mother, but I believe her to be one of the "People of the Lie".
NOBODY wants to deal with her, doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, and everybody in the family except me.
You don't need patience? That's a good one.
