I am only 38 and found out last year or earlier this year I have anemia. I don't like having it as I'm only so young and my health is not very good. I was in the hospital March 13 to 18th but wasn't for anemia. I found out that ketorolac caused me to almost die at home if I didn't make it to the hospital when I did I could've died at home. And I felt as if I was dying. I have a service dog plus cats that are my ESA as well as now 2 female Betta fish. Living alone is really hard as I don't usually have my place where nobody wants to come over as with my health especially the PNES, fibromyalgia etc my dr wants me to have someone living with me, helping me with what I'm unable to do, when I go out I need to have someone with me in case. He is the BEST doctor I've ever had where I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada. He told me not to worry about the $50 no show fee and I don't pay for any letters etc he gives me. Told me that basically my health is more important than me having to pay for even the meds if I have to pay anything depending on the meds I guess and my pharmacist is the sweetest pharmacist ever because each time I go to the dr office to either pick up my ensure, get a flu shot or my COVID booster, dr appointment I can grab a pop for free. It's EXTREMELY hard to get a really great doctor that's understanding and cares more about your health than like I said charging for any letters or notes and will actually listen, understand, do everything possible to make it that the health issues are taken care of. And also a pharmacist that's kind and does what mine does.
Hospitals here are not always helpful as it all depends on the doctor and nurses you get.
Ems depending on who you get if you have a service dog will try and tell you that your SD can't be placed in the stretcher with you, and they will make you walk to the ambulance even though when you take a couple steps down the stairs like myself that they think you're capable of walking which I clearly stated that I can't do this (going down the stairs and walk to the ambulance).
Always look up the SD law where you live print and HIGHLIGHT the KEY points
Don't know what this would be under. So I just put it as mobility.

This was posted August 6, so sorry it seems to be just showing up now. The site has been having problems with Hackers and getting it back on track. Posts in Discussions tend to get lost.

We do have Canadians on this forum so hopefully one of them will see your post. Most of us are in the US, though. Our Healthcare is much different than yours. So we can't answer how you can find help. When it comes to laws concerning service animals, ours may differ from yours.

You must have some sort of Social Services Office or Office of Aging that can help you find resourses in your area. You doctor should be able to help.

My 35 year old daughter is in a similar disabled health situation, multiple chronic health issues. She was to the point of giving up & signed into a facility for mental health help. Her doctor told her she wouldn't qualify for disability. She had worked part time but now hasn't been employed since January. She's had several interviews for part-time work never getting hired. They all want healthy young people that can stand, lift, etc.
I want to help her when she is discharged but don't even know where to start.
I feel for you. It is a difficult road when you are young and not well.

Wow, you’ve really been through a lot, and I can feel how heavy that must be. I’m so glad you have a doctor and pharmacist who actually care — that kind of kindness is rare. Living alone with all that on your plate sounds really hard, but I admire how you’re still finding ways to cope with your service dog, cats, and even your fish. You’re stronger than you probably give yourself credit forr
