If you are on hospice and need additional care are you allowed to hire a private aide outside of the hospice provider? To help fill in the time that hospice doesn't provide?
Many hospices simply don't have the resources to provide more than a couple of hours a few times a week. It is also possible that your hospice may be able to provide a list of people they have worked with in the past and found satisfactory. They will not actually recommend anyone just give you the list and as said it is private pay.
Not only what GSA and Glad wrote, but I was encouraged (very strongly!) by hospice reps with whom I spoke to do just that - hire private duty people. Their attitude was somewhat of the "not MY job" approach I'd seen once or twice during my working career.
