The sitter does not need to do any caregiving; just watch.

I am not the person requesting info.

Hi JoAnn,
I am a caregiver through an agency. You have options:
- contact a local agency (includes insurance and liability coverage)
- find a caregiver through www.care.com
- contact your local senior center to post an ad or get a referral for a caregiver

If you are not using an agency, you should run a background check on the potential employee. As long as you have a copy of their drivers license (just to verify this is who they say they are, and get a full name and address), you can go online to www.intelius.com and spend $50 or so to make sure this person does not have a criminal record.

In the state of California, home health aides are licensed (no real qualifications except they have to pass a background check). Check if your state has a home health aid license. That is also a way to find a qualified individual, by asking them if they are licensed and go online to double check.

Go to the top of this page where it says FIND CARE and click. Fill out the form and someone from A Place For Mom should be in touch with you.

Go find a caregiver employment website. This is not an employment site for hiring someone. You're looking in the wrong place here.
