You have to remember that these concerns that your dad has may be stemming from the past since he has Dementia. What was his profession? Did he work around people where looks were considered top priority . Long term memories don't fade away because they're things that people did over and over . Go into his world when he has these concerns about his looks. Tell him he looks really good, that his skin is perfect etc. Compliments will make him smile .
