Massachusetts is one of only three states that does not recognize Living Wills. What they do have is the Massachusetts Medical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (MOLST). It costs nothing and is honored by Licensed health care professionals (nurses, emergency responders, etc in a home or hospital setting. Using the online U.S. Living Will Registry for advance care directives costs $59.00 and is not recognized in the state of Massachusetts. Mosts states have their own protocols for advance care directives free of charge. For Massachusetts residents go to http://molst-ma.org/.

Thnx Debralee! We were just discussing this a short while ago with MIL's next door neighbor who's a medic. He was going to let us know where to get more info but hasn't gotten back to us yet. Now he doesn't have to!
