Find Care & Housing
A Hard-top Gazebo is what I am wanting too! It would be great if it covered the side yard and the driveway, costs thousands of dollars. But would save on electricity blocking the sun. (or not!) Lol.

In the meantime, I am shopping for new twinkle lights to drape over the Gazebo for the upcoming holidays.

cwillie, how did your expanded garden between you and your neighbor do this summer?

It didn't do well OncehatedDIL, of the 5 perennials I planted aphids swarmed one plant and bunnies kept two others pruned to the ground. Plus my neighbour is an ass so he left a 4" fringe of grass for me to deal with over on his side🙄, I had hoped he would appreciate the barrier from my rampant creeping charlie. On the other hand my chaos mix of annual flowers in the rest of the flower bed did really well😄
I'm contemplating planting clumps of ornamental grass there and all along the boundary next year.

cwillie, I'm glad your annuals put on a show. I tried for a birdseed garden this year - utter failure. Apparently stuff that grows in abundance next to the highway has no interest in being tamed. I had a potted coleus that was trying to take over, I stuck trimmings from it directly in the same ground and they are taking off. At least the hummingbirds and butterflies like the coleus. So there is that.

It's a beautiful fall day so I was cleaning up the gardens this morning and I'm exhausted, I'd planned to do more but I've always said there's no point turning a hobby into toil and drudgery.

I have finally learned that I enjoy my gardening more in the summer when I call it a day at noon. No true fall weather here yet, we did get 3 inches of rain last week, that rain should give us a pretty fall.
