Starting this thread because I want to read your experiences for those of you who feel alone in this caregiving business especially if you have no emotional and/or financial support from your relatives.

@assandache7 I read your profile. My grandpa is also 91 years old with dementia.
I take him to adult daycare and it's been a lifesaver for me as a caregiver and so grandpa can get his social stimulation and be around other people as well. Was wondering if you also take your Mom to adult daycare so you can get respite for yourself?

Every day!! I have 1 of 7 siblings who visit or call my Mom.. She doesn't even ask for the missing "selfish 6",she hasn't heard from them so in her world they don't exist.

I am lucky to have a supportive and loving husband and a SIL who has a son with Asperger's syndrome so she can relate to my loneliness and frustrations..
