My mother is exhibiting bouts of paranoia, she believes that someone enters her house when she is not home and takes her things.

I'd avise getting her to a doctor soon. This could be because of an infection such as a UTI, it could be medication reactions, or it could be dementia. Only a doctor can figure this out, but she does need help.
Good luck,
Carol
