Always so great to read all these blessings. I got a little Turner Classic Movies channel time in with a cup of herbal tea while my dad napped, then a nice dinner with him. Thanks, Lord!

I am happy to see all of your blessings, that is my blessing this day!

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of the spirit, washed in his blood.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with his goodness, lost in his love.

This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.

Our sweet little wild bunny came back to visit us. She was sitting in front of the back sun porch listening to classical music. I play classical music on the radio during the day up until dusk.

The new Phizer vaccine apparently is 90% effective. Amazing. Just announced. A particular type of vaccine. Dr David Kessler is named as co chair on the new Corona taskforce. Does anyone remember this remarkable man? If no, do search engine him. The virus is currently 125,000 a day for the last two days in new cases and over 1,000 deaths a day. I am so hoping this vaccine is a good one. Much more to be done, and there will be difficult delivery system I hear, as it must be kept cold, colder than refrigeration last I heard. But reason to thank goodness, this news. Feeling hopeful.

Took a walk along the rail trail. My mother loved being outside and so did I.
Took a ride in the country stopped at a nice restaurant and had takeout
Mom for the first time in two years picked up her spoon and started feeding herself chocolate pudding. We were all so thrilled and happy my mother is doing so well.
Wonderful stress free day. I feel renewed and refreshed.

Alva,

Speaking of Election Day. I am thankful for generators. Much of our city is still out of power due to Hurricane Zeta so generators had to be placed in polling booths.

Hubby and I elected to vote by mail a few weeks ago so we are finished with voting.

I can’t imagine how long it will take today at the polls! They say they will be sanitizing between each voter. Surely there will be very long lines.

I sincerely hope that people will show up to vote. We should never throw away our right or privilege to vote.

It wasn’t all that long ago that women weren’t even allowed to vote. We should vote for ourselves and also to honor our ancestors that weren’t allowed to.

Counting as a positive that the election is done with today. Perhaps no solid answer to who wins, dependent on how close, but it will be over and we can get back to real life being lived. It's in the hands of the American People. They will decide it and I trust them to do that. I was just listening to talk radio and the host said that one study shows that 55% of Americans say that this is the most stressful day of their lives. I know I am 78 but I can only think they must be young and haven't lived long enough to see a whole lot of stress and pain.

Beautiful day here too! We met my oldest daughter at one of my favorite restaurants to celebrate my birthday which is tomorrow. I will be 65!

Where did the years go, huh? Doesn’t it seem like time goes faster as we get older?

They say in our 60’s we reflect. Yes, we do! Thinking back on my younger days and feeling a bit melancholy. Maybe that’s the Irish in me! Hahaha

Dear "earlybird,"

Oh, I'm just so grateful nothing serious ended up happening. Maybe next time you can have the clothes in there with you so you wouldn't have to go get them - that's what I've done. Even if you just set up a chair in there to put the clothes on.

I guess the seatbelt would be a good idea from now on like you said. You're right things can happen in a split second no matter how careful you are!

Thank God she's ok - she's come such a long way in the last several weeks!

Update:
Well I am very grateful my mother did not hit her head and do a tumble over her high quality shower chair?? We were showering her and she was cooperative. The bathe went very well. It was quick and we dried her. I went to to get clothes for her and my niece was putting on her socks when I came back my mother was hanging off the side and was about to take a landing over the shower chair on to the ceramic floor and thank God she did not fall. Lesson to be learned for me and niece never leave her alone without two people in my case. No ones fault, it happens no matter how careful one is, niece was concentrating on her feet and I was concentrating on getting her clothes and she could have hit her head and died, she is on blood thinners. We never used the seat belt before but for now on we will. Oh my goodness, it is a wonder I am not on antianxiety meds. Grateful but very stressed and shaking. Things can happen in a blink of an eye. I am so so grateful to our Lord.

Hi "earlybird,"

I'm so glad to hear you and your mom are having a really good morning. It works wonders when our loved one is extremely cooperative, polite, calm and smiling. You're like me - when my mom is having a good day, I'm having a good day and when she's not, then my day kind of goes downhill from there. My mom wasn't allowing anyone to help her shower or do sponge baths at her previous ALF but now that she's been at her new facility in the memory care unit since April, she was allowing sponge baths under hospice care and a couple of months ago she finally has been letting them give her showers. That's a huge victory for us!

Hope you're able to give mom a shower today - you both have a great day and hugs to you both!

I had such a good morning. Mom was extremely cooperative, polite and calm which is her usual self when she feels good. A smile on her face when she woke up this morning. I know she is feeling better and that makes me very happy. Will try to shower her today, only sponge baths the last year. Hope it will be a good experience.

"smeshque,"

Funny, how I was just thinking about you earlier today as I know you don't get to post very often with your schedule.

Glad you all enjoy singing every morning and night - great way to start and end the day!

Sounds like you are enjoying your fall break - being out in nature between walking and riding your bike as well as playing with your goats.

You're all healthy - that's the main thing.

God is good! Take care -

Singing is great you all, for many reasons. We sing here every morning and night. Mom loves singing.

I am so thankful for fall break. I have had a few days to truly just enjoy being. I have admired the beauty of God's creations. Since we harvested the soy beans, we can now walk and/or drive to the woods in back. I have been walking and riding my bike to and fro. It has been great. I have gotten to just play with my goats. Everyone is healthy. And Jesus Reigns!!
We are a blessed people.
Thank you Lord.
