There is an article on foxnews about a recent breakthrough in the treatment of C-dff (common in elderly patients in hospital or nursing home settings). It is notoriously hard to treat due to it's resistance to antibiotics. It seems that researchers have discovered 7 virus strains that specifically target C-diff bacteria and destroy them, while leaving other bacteria, like the good intestinal bacteria, alone. The virus is administered in a pill. I hope this quickly gets approved for use!

Sounds promising, but don't hold yoru breth. They are just starting phase 1 and 2 clinical trials - i.e. not even sure its safe yet. Will be great if it works and doesn't cause more problems than it solves!
