Alvadeer here:
I am not a Wiccan. I am also not a Voodoo Priestess. a HooDoo Priestess or a Priestess of any kind. Nor a Seer.
I am just a poor little old Atheist. I don't believe in any of that stuff. I am a "NON believer".
So to those who may be following another very interesting thread on Forum in which it is suggested that I am a "practicing Witch" and have told other posters that I am, don't you believe it. (Don't all trip over yourselves in search of that thread).
SOOOOOO I got nothin. No potions. No incantations. No prayers. Just wishes and thoughts.
I can't magically change the election, nor put a spell on the winner. I cannot rid the world of Covid-19 or suffering, or pollution, or much of anything else. I can't make anyone behave (THAT'S for sure!).
How did this misunderstanding happen? I am not certain. I suspect someone said I was a _itch, and it all got confused somehow? Halloween and all.
I am sorry for any confusion. But no special magic. So sorry if anyone was counting on any special magic powers to fix things.
Happy end of Halloween, everyone, Happy end of Dia de los Muertos, and happy soon to be end of election. We'll be OK.
Now it comes to "select a topic".
I think the admins may not have created one for this, but the jokes thread might work!
You have all given me a wonderful giggle this a.m. It's enough to make me want to go to Witch School.
Does anyone remember the scene about the witches in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It's my favorite other than the one where the Priest does the incantations for the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch that they are about to launch against the Rabbit. Both are on YouTube.
Thanks for the giggle, everyone. What we do on Forum is often serious; one tends to miss our humor, and in all truth it is the best weapon, in my opinion, we have against the vagaries of life.
😂 Too funny! Well, if witches lives matter, what about wizards? Don’t they count just as much? Ghosts, Ghouls, Goblins, Vampires, Werewolves, etc. ? Bigfoot! Extra terrestrials?
Alva, short of visiting my diverse city (New Orleans) full of interesting inhabitants, you can listen to Coast to Coast on the radio, tons of paranormal guests!
I absolutely did not find Alva’s name in the witch museum. Certainly is a fun spot to visit during the month of October though. 😊
Endora was awesome! So was Sam’s cousin, Serena. They were fun. Sam was adorable but what did she see in Darrin? LOL
Even dorky Darrin loved Aunt Clara!
Did you ever have a neighbor like Mrs. Kravitz? I did once. No one in the neighborhood liked her!
That settles it then. AlvaDeer is not now, nor has ever been a witch. 🧹️
If you went to the witch museum in Salem, and did not find her name written there, then it follows that she cannot be a witch. Even if you went there a long long time ago, everyone who knows a witch understands that witches live forever, never die.
Well, they may lose their brooms and not be able to fly.
I have been to the witch museum in Salem, Massachusetts. Interesting museum! Salem is actually a nice area.
It was years ago. We were in our 20’s. We took a trip to New England in the fall to see the changing of the leaves. 🍁 It was beautiful. We don’t have that in the south.
We saw Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.
Alva,.count me in your team to defend against loons or trolls.
😁 But not even a good one? Like Glinda The Good Witch?? 😂😂
At 5 yrs old, Glinda was my absolute hero. I had never seen such a beautiful magical sight as her travelling bubble...
P.S I guess asking you to rig a slot machine for me at the casino tomorrow is out of the question? I hoped to win big this time!
I used to want to be a witch and a genie as a child because I absolutely adored Samantha on Bewitched and Jeannie on I Dream of Jeannie.
Even Walt Disney films are filled with tales of magic and wizardry!
As a kid I was a witch for Halloween, also a ghost, vampire, zombie, any kind of scary character you can imagine. Fun memories!
At Mardi Gras time I dressed up in any costume that my heart desired. My mother was an extremely talented seamstress. My favorite costume was a gypsy!
My kids loved dressing up for Halloween and Mardi Gras too. I loved making their costumes.
Oh gosh, my kids wanted to get an invitation to Hogwarts after reading all of the Harry Potter books. After reading Mary Poppins I wanted a nanny like Mary Poppins to come clean my room with magic!
The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings were fun reads. I am also fond of Narnia. C.S. Lewis is a Christian writer who incorporates a witch in his Narnia stories.
I love fantasy. My husband and children do too. Sci-Fi too. Everyone needs to escape reality sometimes!
Fiction books, movies, theatre and television shows are fun and interesting.
I enjoyed chatting with you about the history of our region and our many beliefs and cultures, which include all religious faiths, also voodoo, hoodoo, vampire culture due to our famous author, Anne Rice, and witches that live in our community. Somehow we live side by side with each other in harmony.
I am sorry if I inadvertently caused you any grief on this forum because of my description on the diversity of New Orleans with our colorful group of inhabitants. As you know, I apologized on that thread if I offended anyone.
I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church which believes in the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The church does not condone practices outside of it’s teachings.
I am accepting of others regardless of their beliefs as long as no harm is inflicted on anyone. I have never participated in practices such as voodoo, hoodoo, vampire activity or witchcraft because I haven’t had any desire to.
I am not bothered in the least by agnostics or atheists. I don’t harshly judge others. I have no interest in persuading others to believe one way or another.
I feel a person’s beliefs are a personal choice. This is why people came to America, freedom to our own beliefs without persecution.
I sincerely wish that all Christians could be like Jesus was with the Samaritan woman at the well. He met her right where she was. He was accepting of her. It’s a beautiful example of His love.
I find different beliefs fascinating and we are accustomed to diversity in my city. As I always say, we are certainly not an “Anywhere USA” city.
We also have many beautiful historical places of worship, including St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. Our history is Roman Catholic due to the French and Spanish settlement here.
You know that you are well-liked and loved on here!
Silly me, but I do want to find that thread where someone called you a _itch!
More and more people are losing their filter.
If it weren't so funny, I would be crying. Actually, I think that I am crying.
Someone must be trying to bully you, mistaking kindness for weakness.
It is a serious offense to accuse someone of withcraft. They used to be burned at the stake.
Yes, I am serious.
And were I a serious Wiccan you can know I would have that lotto in your hands with your NEXT TICKET (buy it right away; if you win I will expect a stipend).
It honestly is too funny.
Can you not see the Wiccans everywhere in our country, madly sticking pins into voodoo dolls (oh, WAIT, that is VOODOO) to make the election come out right, when honestly we only have our one vote and then we'll have to abide by the will of our great nation. So proud of how many came out to vote this time. (Change that Voodoo doll thing to stirring cauldrons and spouting mad incantations....whatever works).
I didn't think you would think I was a practicing witch. But you know. Just in case. I am not. I cannot help you! And I cannot hurt anyone ELSE. And trust me when I say, I never would WANT to.
But OMG what a day to be a Witch. He's winning. No, he's not, the other guy is, and on it goes. I am afraid there are not enough cauldrons in the world to help us. But on we go, and we will be OK. I know that. Perhaps I AM a seer!
